Toni Gardemeister, age of 32 has lived a life of semi-professional rally driver in season 2007. He has rallied selected WRC and international rallies in Italy and Finland. Gardemeister seeks manufacturer seat for season 2008 and therefore participates to WRC Finland and WRC Germany to keep up his driving skills aswell as competing his fellow drivers.

As Gardemeister with his background posse didn't find a competitive rally car for WRC Finland, Toni decided to do the recce and participate the rally called Vetomies with his BMW M3 rally car. Vetomies rally is a national rally and includes five special stages inside WRC Finland. In WRC Germany Gardemeister rallies with Citroen XSara WRC.

- Entering for WRC Finland without a modern and highly competitive rally car is a suicide. The route demands a lot from the car. There are only three manufacturers who has a competitive rally car for Finnish fast paced gravel special stages. It'll be hard to manage yourself into final Championship points with other manufacturers rally cars. I didn't want to do that in my home rally and therefore I'll be entering the rally with my own beauty, told Gardemeister.

Two weeks later WRC circus travels into Germany. Gardemeister is back in action with Citroen Xsara WRC. In season 2006 Toni with his co-driver Jakke Honkanen gained valuable 4th position in German tarmac World Rally event with similar Citroen XSara WRC.

- In German twisty and narrow tarmac stages the cars competitiveness is not in so big role as it is in WRC Finland and its' fast paced stages. After long decisions and negotiations we decided to enter the rally with a bit old Citroen XSara WRC. It's still very fast in twisty sections and therefore I'll start the rally with high hopes, Gardemeister cheered.

WRC Finland and Vetomies rally is the be rallied in first weekend of August. Gardemeister starts the event with his co-driver Tuomo Hannonen as number 206. WRC Germany is to be rallied two weeks later in the middle of August. Gardemeister rallies with his co-driver Jakke Honkanen as number 14.

Shortly

I'm second generation rallydriver born with motorsports in my blood in 1975. My yard was full of racing cars as my dad began driving rally in 1970, so I breathed rally all the time.

After professional career I have teached and mentored new talents and as a Jari-Matti Latvala´s first car.
